Colter and Keaton had no choice but to phone it in, as a crime of this nature is well-above their pay grade.

Keaton’s former co-worker, Det. Willa Simms arrived on the scene and wasn’t pleased that he was investigating, since he was no longer an on-duty cop.

“Old habits die hard,” he explained, but the truth is, they had no idea what they were getting themselves into when they went out looking for Dobbs.

Willa has a warning for them both—stay out of it. It’s advice they both likely wish they had taken seriously, as the case takes a series of dark and unexpected twists involving a killer-for-hire. Read Parade’s recap here.

Who Plays Det. Willa Simms on ‘Tracker’ Season 3 Episode 9?

Det. Willa Simms is played by Jes Macallan.

Seeing Macallan alongside Hartley may give fans flashbacks to Mistresses, as the reunion brings together the two former on-screen lovebirds for the first time in years.

The ABC series, which premiered in 2013, featured Macallan as Josslyn “Joss” Carver and Hartley in a recurring role as her love interest, Scott Trosman.

The actress is also known for her work on The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow across seven seasons, though she also has an extensive background behind the camera, directing All Rise on OWN, All American, and the spinoff, All American: Homecoming, and NBC’s recently-canceled Found.

Can Det. Willa Simms Be Trusted on ‘Tracker’?

Well, that’s to be determined.

As the midseason finale episode ended on a cliffhanger, that put Colter and Keaton in quite a bit of danger, there hasn’t been a resolution to the story, which means Simms will be appearing in one additional episode on Tracker.

You’ll be able to see her on Tracker Season 3 Episode 10, when it returns from hiatus on March 1, 2026, on CBS. The series will air at a new time on 9/8c.
