Counting On – Tragic Farewell: Josie Duggar, Youngest Daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle, Passes Away at 16 After Brave Cancer Battle

The Counting On and 19 Kids & Counting community is mourning an unimaginable loss. Josie Duggar, the youngest daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, has tragically passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer, according to a family statement shared earlier today.
The heartbreaking news has left both fans and loved ones devastated, as the Duggars face yet another painful chapter in their lives.
A Brave Fighter From the Start
Born prematurely at just 25 weeks back in 2009, Josie’s life was a miracle from the beginning. Weighing only one pound at birth, she overcame impossible odds to survive — a story that inspired millions who watched her journey unfold on TLC’s 19 Kids & Counting.
In recent years, however, Josie had reportedly been battling serious health complications linked to cancer. Despite her young age, she faced every treatment, hospital visit, and setback with incredible courage, faith, and an unbreakable smile.
“She was our miracle from the start,” the Duggar family shared in their emotional post. “Her strength, her laughter, and her love for life will forever be remembered.”
A Family in Mourning
Sources close to the family say the Duggars were by Josie’s side in her final moments, praying and singing hymns together. Michelle Duggar reportedly held her daughter’s hand until her last breath.
