‘1,000 Lb Sisters’ Star Tammy Slaton Reveals ‘Scary’ Reality of Upcoming Surgery

Tammy Slaton is about to undergo a life-changing surgery, but the star of 1,000-lb Sisters admits the journey to transformation comes with some understandable fears.

After facing frustrating delays, the 38-year-old reality TV star has been cleared for her skin removal surgery, which is a critical step in her ongoing weight loss journey. However, Slaton shared her anxieties in an exclusive clip obtained by E! News from the upcoming June 3 episode of 1,000-lb Sisters on TLC, revealing the emotional and physical challenges she’s anticipating.

“Just really the pain and then my fear of how I’m going to look afterwards,” she confides. “I’m so used to seeing all this hanging [from] my arms and now when I wake up Sunday or Saturday, I’m not going to have this anymore.”

The surgery is a monumental step toward regaining control of her body after losing 500 pounds, but she’s still uncertain about the changes it will bring. “I’m going to look halfway normal from [the] face down. It’s scary but rewarding at the same time,” she says.

Slaton, who has chronicled her struggles with weight loss on both 1,000-lb Sisters alongside her sister Amy and on social media, predicts her daily routine will change drastically as well. She shared her concern about the challenges of simple tasks like showering, stating, “Even showering is going to be so much different… I have to take my hand and go all the way up underneath there and it’s kind of deep. In less than a week, I’m not going to have that.”

Slaton recently gave her friends and followers a glimpse into her personal life. She shared a sweet video featuring her girlfriend, Andrea, set to the song “Mood Swings” by Pop Smoke. The 38-year-old 1,000-lb Sisters star highlighted the lyrics, “You know, I never found love until I looked into your eyes,” which had fans flooding the comments to express their joy for the couple.
